Is it always easy to be kind?
No, it’s not. Ninety-eight percent of the time, I lead with kindness. At the same time, I have children, a boyfriend, and an ex-husband. It doesn’t always work out that way; but, I’ve learned to “think before I talk”. Having some impulse control helps, and it certainly helps to prevent feelings from getting hurt. I have grown over the last ten years and I know that my heart and my intentions are good.

Bringing the theoretical to the actual, I'm a regular person and I can get a little jammed up sometimes; but even during those times, I know that my intentions are good. I lied once and got in trouble. Kindness is also about being sincere. I will tell things like they are, but without the intention of hurting someone’s feelings, but by responding with honest information. The truth will set you free. If someone wants the answer… *

What do you do on your hardest days?
I try to be kind to myself. I will close up shop and hide with a candle and my dogs. I try to find a quiet space. I breathe through it. I try to cleanse it out. I definitely shut down the external stuff. My job is emotionally demanding.

What’s the kindest thing that’s happened to you today?
When I’m teaching Pilates I love to wear Ugs and gloves… I really wrap up. It can be chilly if you aren’t moving as much as the students. Well, one of my students gave me a pair of fleece-lined leggings. I was happy because this gift was so perfect for me. I get a lot of smiles and gratitude from clients.

*I love this part.  Be sincere y'all!
